6. Mobile Phone Number Verification

As part of the registration and use of the User account, Bialto may require verification of the mobile phone number provided. For this purpose, a temporary code will be sent by SMS to the number indicated, which the User must enter on the platform to complete the verification process. The processing of the mobile phone number for verification purposes is necessary for the performance of the contract (Article 6(1)(b) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 – GDPR), as it constitutes a requirement for the use of the platform. Additionally, the processing is based on Bialto’s legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), in particular to prevent fraudulent registrations, misuse of the service, and to protect the integrity of the platform. For the purpose of sending the verification SMS, the mobile phone number may be transmitted to a duly contracted electronic communications service provider, acting as a data processor and processing the data exclusively in accordance with Bialto’s instructions. The mobile phone number will be retained for as long as the User’s account remains active or as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations.
