No. Bialto is not subject to the obligation to report to the Tax Authorities, as it does not charge commissions nor intermediates payments. The new legislation applies only to platforms that act as financial intermediaries, such as eBay, Amazon, or Vinted.

2. What are the new rules for sellers?

The legislation distinguishes two types of sellers:

Occasional Sellers

• If you make up to 30 sales per year or earn up to €2,000 annually, you do not need to register with the Tax Authorities or issue invoices.
• The sale should be occasional and without the intention of making a profit (e.g., selling used personal items).

Professional Sellers

• If you exceed 30 annual sales or €2,000 in revenue, you may be considered a self-employed worker.
• In this case, you must:
  • Register with the Tax Authorities as a sole trader or self-employed worker.
  • Issue invoices for each transaction.
  • Declare the income under category B – Business and Professional Income for the IRS.
  • You may be subject to VAT depending on your business volume.

3. Can the Tax Authority audit sales on Bialto?
